Vernaccia di Cannara
Fruity with a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity
Vernaccia has been made in the Colli Martani and the valley below for many hundreds of years, but now we are one of remaining three official producers.
Vernaccia di Cannara DOC is produced with cornetta grapes, a very rare and tannic native black grape variety. After 3 months of drying on frames locally called “camorcanne”, its acidity and its tannins are balanced by soft sugars, in an extraordinary and slightly spicy combination of aromas of blackberry, currant and violet.
Traditionally, its consumption begins on Easter morning, accompanying it with Umbrian cheese cake and new cured meats. It symbolically represents the blood of the risen Christ and has the value of sacred wine, often used in mass during the Easter period. Featured at the Collemancio wine festival and Cannara onion festival.

Tasting Notes
Dense purplish-red wine with rich aromas and flavours of red fruit, blackberries and violet, with tannins which, perfectly balanced by acidity and sweetness, leave a dry and clean mouth. Persistent and pleasantly fruity aftertaste.
Food Pairing
Extraordinarily versatile, it traditionally accompanies the typical Umbrian Easter cheese cake with new cured meats, or sweet Easter pizza. Remarkable with aged cheeses, dry pastries, panettone, Easter cake, ice cream, nougat and spoon desserts. Unforgettable is the combination with traditional Umbrian desserts, such as the Spoleto cake, the Perugian brustengolo, the ciaramicola and the San Costanzo torcolo. Perfect with Marche fig lonzino. Surprising with chocolate, or with burrata or buffalo mozzarella.

Our Olive Oil
Our olive groves flourish in clay-marl soils where over 500 trees belonging to nineteen native varieties have been carefully tended, many for generations.
We specialise in the prized Moraiolo variety, an ancient Umbrian cultivar that produces extraordinarily rich oils high in antioxidants, alongside the rare San Felice monovarietal oil known for its elegant almond and white flower notes.
Each harvest is done entirely by hand, and every drop of oil from our DOP-certified trees reflects both the exceptional terroir and our commitment to preserving these ancient varieties.
