Meet The Custodians of Colle di Rocco

The stewardship of this estate has always been a matter of care and continuity. Today, that role belongs to Jen and Reuts, an English couple who fell in love with Umbria long before making it their home. Since taking on Colle di Rocco in 2025, they have approached the estate with dedication, preserving what has been entrusted to them while gently shaping the next chapter.

Our Journey to Umbria

For Jen and Reuts, Colle di Rocco is the realisation of a dream that had been quietly forming for years. Both bring with them lives defined by service, adventure and leadership.

Jen began her career teaching science in Zimbabwe before moving to Chile to lead community projects. She later served more than 17 years in the Royal Air Force and went on to establish her own consultancy, working internationally across a wide range of industries.

Reuts also built his career in the RAF, where he first fell in love with Italy while flying from here during the Bosnia conflict. After retiring from the military, he became a consultant and adviser to businesses, mentoring boards, and senior executives.

A conversation in 2018 sparked the idea of creating a new life in Italy. After a six-year search they found Colle di Rocco, the hillside estate that felt like home. Since becoming its custodians in 2025, they have brought the same discipline, energy, and humour that defined their earlier careers into caring for the land and preparing it for the next chapter.

Alongside them is Kevin The Cat, now firmly installed as chief guardian of the estate.

Looking ahead

Colle di Rocco is more than a home. It is a place to be shared. Jen and Reuts already host tastings in the cantina, and in 2026 they plan to open their accommodation to guests after extensive renovation and improvement.  Looking further ahead, their vision is to create spaces for retreats and celebrations among the vines and olive trees.

Their hope is simple: that every visitor experiences the beauty of Umbria as they have, through its landscape, its food and wine, and the slower rhythm of life that makes this place so special.

Savour the Colle di Rocco tradition

Join us at our cantina to taste wines and olive oil that carry the story of this land, paired with local foods. Our guided tastings are unhurried and intimate, giving you time to savour what we make in the place where it was grown, with nothing to distract from the flavours.

Tastings are currently only available in English while we improve our Italian language skills.

Our Wines

Our vineyards continue a winemaking tradition stretching back centuries, where rare native grapes have always thrived. From the renowned Vernaccia di Cannara DOC to our small-batch reds and whites, each bottle tells the story of this land through limited-quantity craftsmanship.

Our Olive Oil

Our olive groves flourish in clay-marl soils where over 500 trees belonging to nineteen native varieties have been carefully tended, many for generations.

We specialise in the prized Moraiolo variety, an ancient Umbrian cultivar that produces extraordinarily rich oils high in antioxidants, alongside the rare San Felice monovarietal oil known for its elegant almond and white flower notes.

Each harvest is done entirely by hand, and every drop of oil from our DOP-certified trees reflects both the exceptional terroir and our commitment to preserving these ancient varieties.
