Our story
Colle di Rocco is where ancient tradition meets the quiet beauty of rural Umbria. Set in a protected park below the village of Collemancio, these vineyards and groves have been nurtured for generations. We now continue that tradition, caring for rare native vines and centuries-old olive trees with the same dedication.
We are among the last guardians of Vernaccia di Cannara DOC, a remarkable sweet red passito wine crafted with the balance and elegance only time-honoured methods can bring. Alongside it, our vineyards yield small-batch reds and whites, each one expressing the character of this land. Our olive groves produce pure Moraiolo extra-virgin olive oil, prized for its flavour and vitality, carrying the richness of Central Italy in every drop.
At Colle di Rocco, we welcome you to share in the rhythm of country life, from tastings in our historic cantina to seasonal celebrations among the vines.

Join us at our cantina to taste wines and olive oil that carry the story of this land, paired with local foods. Our guided tastings are unhurried and intimate, giving you time to savour what we make in the place where it was grown, with nothing to distract from the flavours.
Tastings are currently only available in English while we improve our Italian language skills.
Our Wines
Our vineyards continue a winemaking tradition stretching back centuries, where rare native grapes have always thrived. From the renowned Vernaccia di Cannara DOC to our small-batch reds and whites, each bottle tells the story of this land through limited-quantity craftsmanship.

Our New Accommodation
We're creating something special at Colle di Rocco. Five beautifully appointed guest suites are being thoughtfully designed to blend Italian farmhouse charm with contemporary comfort, each offering unique views across our olive groves, vineyards, and countryside. One suite will overlook the valley towards magnificent Mt Subasio and Assisi.
A new swimming pool, nestled amongst centuries-old olive trees, will provide the perfect retreat after days spent exploring Umbria's treasures.

Our Olive Oil
Our olive groves flourish in clay-marl soils where over 500 trees belonging to nineteen native varieties have been carefully tended, many for generations.
We specialise in the prized Moraiolo variety, an ancient Umbrian cultivar that produces extraordinarily rich oils high in antioxidants, alongside the rare San Felice monovarietal oil known for its elegant almond and white flower notes.
Each harvest is done entirely by hand, and every drop of oil from our DOP-certified trees reflects both the exceptional terroir and our commitment to preserving these ancient varieties.

The new custodians of Colle di Rocco left military and international careers behind to create a life in Umbria, caring for the estate’s vines and olive trees.
